What we collect, and what we do not

What we collect

Almost nothing. There is no account to create, no newsletter to join, and no login. The only data this site handles falls into three narrow cases:

• A theme preference. If you switch between light and dark, we store that choice in a single cookie named kw-theme so the page loads in the mode you picked. It holds one value, light or dark, and nothing that identifies you. It is the only cookie this site sets.
• Aggregate page views. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see, in aggregate, which pages are read. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, does not track you across other sites, and collects no personal data.
• What you email us. If you write to hello@kernwise.com, we receive your address and whatever you put in the message. There is no form on this site; email is the only way in.

Why we collect it

Each of these has one purpose and no more. The theme cookie exists so the site respects the mode you chose. The analytics exist so we know which pages are worth continuing: read counts in aggregate, never individual behaviour. The contact details you send exist so a person can read your message and write back.

Mail to hello@kernwise.com is forwarded to the mailbox we read by Cloudflare Email Routing, which carries it on our behalf. We use what you send only to reply to you. We do not sell it, we do not share it with anyone outside the studio, and we do not add you to any list.

There are no third-party trackers, no advertising networks, and no fingerprinting anywhere on this site.

Your choices

You are in control of the little we hold.

• The theme cookie can be cleared at any time from your browser settings. The site works without it and falls back to your system preference.
• The analytics hold nothing tied to you, so there is nothing to opt out of on an individual basis. Blocking scripts in your browser stops it entirely, and the site still works.
• Anything you sent us is yours to reach. Email us and we will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it.

How to reach us

For any question about this page, or to ask us to correct or delete something you have sent, write to hello@kernwise.com. A person reads it and replies.
